Autumn Greetings!
October 30, 2006
I hope that you are all enjoying fall. Yesterday was just too beautiful to stay inside, so we took a trip to Emma Krumbee’s for the Scarecrow Festival. It was so much fun and there was a lot to see and do… We listened to music and Gilbert got to dance along and play instruments. There was a petting zoo, a tractor tour of the orchard and pumpkin patch, a big pile of hay for the kids to jump in and of course a ton of scarecrows to admire.
There has been a lot going on in the Nowell house this past month. Gilbert had his three-year well child exam. He now measures in the 100 percentile for height and 75 percentile for weight. What a string bean! We all got out flu shots at the appointment and Gilbert was such a trooper! He cried, of course, but as soon as he got his sucker he asked for another shot!
Gilbert also had his preschool screening on Friday. He was so well-behaved, and really impressed the teachers doing the screenings. He is right on track, and actually ahead of the curve on a lot developmental milestones. As his mom and dad suspect, he is probably the smartest kid in Minnesota!
Gilbert just wrapped up swimming lessons, and we start gymnastics today. I hope that he likes it! He certainly has the energy to spare…and if he inherited my physical prowess, or lack thereof, he can definitely use all the help he can get!
That’s all from here! Happy Halloween! We’ll post pictures of Gilbert the Crocodile later this week!

What a busy household! The pictures of Gilbert are just adorable - it’s good you got out and enjoyed that bit of beautiful weather because now it’s brrrrrrrrrr! We’ll all be anxious to see Gilbert the Crocodile!

Gilbert looks like a natural in his flannel shirt! I have no doubt he will do well in school and sports. Love Grandma K
