One is Fun!

I can hardly believe our baby is one year old, and not a baby anymore!
Gilbert had a quiet first birthday. It was on a Wednesday, so he went to daycare as usual. He brought treats for the other kids and they all sang him “Happy Birthday,” which he really enjoyed. He also got a Mylar balloon, which he absolutely loved. In the evening, we just relaxed and enjoyed family time. Jerry and I couldn’t stop looking at him and remarking just how lucky we are…
Gilbert had his one year well-baby exam today. He now weighs in at 23 pounds 14 ounces and measures 31 1/2 inches long; putting him in the 60th and 90th percentiles, respectively. It seems like everyday he learns a new trick or masters another skill. This past weekend he took his first steps and finally said “mama.” Last night, out of the blue, he started playing peek-a-boo—covering his eyes and waiting for one of us to say “Where are you?” before laughing and removing his hands.
Thanks to all of our family and friends for sharing Gilbert’s first year. He is a very lucky boy to be surrounded with so much love!

I can't believe how fast the past year has gone by either. I must say that I am a very lucky Auntie to have such a handsome, smart and special little nephew. XOXO
