Our Trip Up North! (cont.)
August 5, 2004
Well, July flew by and I figure it is about time to write a little something and post some more pictures from our trip.
Our trip up north first took us through New Rockford where we visited Jerry’s family. We spent Thursday night with his folks, and enjoyed their hospitality. The visit was much too brief though, since Allen had to go to Bismarck the next day for surgery. On Friday we visited with Jerry’s siblings which was quite fun. We saw Uncle Jimmy’s sword collection and Aunt Cindy’s new house. Then it was back on the road.
We stayed in Crookston on Friday night and visited with Tom and Susie. They told us all about their trip to Thailand and loaded us up with lots of souvenirs before we hit the road again.
Saturday was Grandma B’s surprise eightieth birthday celebration. What a day! We saw so many people…the Texas Brodens came up, my cousin Michelle was there from Florida, and Grandma W and Aunt Susan were there too. There were just too many people there to list!
One of the highlights of the trip was meeting my dear niece Annie for the first time! She is just as sweet and beautiful as a little girl can be! Sunday I also got to meet my nephew Frederick for the first time. He was just so cute, and such a little dynamo! Frederick is only three months older than Gilbert, and they looked so cute together! I cannot forget to mention Sid, who is such a big boy! He just turned four, but it seems like only yesterday he was a little baby.
Sunday and Monday we spent at Mom and Tom’s house just visiting and relaxing, and before we knew it, it was time to head back home.
It was a wonderful trip…. Thanks to Mom and Tom for hosting a house full of noisy kids and grandkids. Thanks to Auntie Chris for arranging Grandma’s party, and to everyone else who I didn’t have time (or space!) to mention, it was great to see you, we miss you, and we cannot wait to do it again!

What fun it was to see you this summer. Gilbert is just a darling little boy. Our visit was too short, but man was it fun. Love you!
