Memorial Day Weekend
June 1, 2004
I hope that you all enjoyed a wonderful Memorial Day!
We were without daycare, so we took a great long weekend (Wednesday through Monday). Six entire days home with Gilbert! It was wonderful, and I have to admit that I will have a hard time going back to work tomorrow. Gilbert is cutting two new teeth (he currently has four) and is working hard on crawling. He can get up on his hands and knees, but right now he mostly does what we call the “Army crawl,” which is really just pushing himself forward with his legs while lying on his tummy.
Our good friend Ole came down from Fargo this weekend to visit and meet Gilbert for the first time….we also put him to work with some chores in the yard. Jerry built a beautiful new retaining wall, which Ole helped to put the finishing touches on. They also tore down the old, rusty shed, which has really opened up the back yard a lot. The house has been preped for painting for about two weeks, but the weather has not yet allowed us to get a start on painting, so it was nice to get some other projects done.

The house looks great! Good job! Gibert looks good too…as usual. I love the new retaining wall…very nice.

Hey Shanon and Jerry, are you guys planning on going to Grandma B's birthday party? I can't WAIT to meet Gilbert and I hope I get to soon! He looks like a perfectly little contented smiley sweetie.
